Make That List, Check It Twice

Are you looking for a powerful way to stand out? Of course you are, who isn’t?  In the sea of noise that we’re selling in, if you’re keeping up with Jones’ you’re losing the battle.  You’ve got to innovate consistently.

Doing what others are doing is great but it doesn’t mean that you’ll take action on it immediately.  You need to really push to differentiate.  Here’s a great way to do just that.

User Twitter Lists

If you read my previous blog post about using Twitter Lists, you know that I recommend using this feature to stay organized.

You can also use Twitter Lists to build custom lists for your current or potential buyers.  Think about it, you can spend a few minutes on Twitter (the world’s biggest content news source) and gain immediate credibility.  Once you make the lists, get your potential buyer to subscribe to your list on Twitter.

Different Scenarios

Here are some practical scenarios for you to consider:

  • Build a list of top thought leaders & influencers for buyers.  If they already are talking about what the buyer is interested in, they will relate that content back to you because you provided the service of telling them about it.
  • Build a general list of the potential buyer’s favourite authors, sports teams, etc.
  • How about a list of their competitors to help show them how to stay updated on that side of their business?

As you can see, there are unlimited possibilities.

The Bottom Line

As you look to stand out and differentiate yourself, use social selling to help you.  Making a Twitter List for a customer demonstrates that you’ve taken the time necessary to understand their business and give them a view of it that they may not have considered.
