How Often Are You Missing Clarity In Execution?

The name of this play (and I have no idea why) is “The Ugly Kardashian.”

It’s fun to watch – I mean, it’s entertaining and all that – but think about it. That play is all about execution. There was explanation, and questions, and confusion, and practice. Well, rehearsal might be a better term for it.

But the play depended upon one thing above all else. CLARITY.

If anyone on the team (or on the sidelines) is uncertain about what is to happen, the whole thing fails. The coach, the quarterback, the linemen – all must have a crystal clear idea of precisely how the play will unfold.

And that, my friends, is all too often the missing component when it relates to execution. We draw up vague plans and have a vague discussion and offer vague instructions. Then we wonder why the play didn’t work.

What project are you working on right now? Better yet, what project is about to command your attention?

Might I suggest that the most important step in that project is to ensure an overwhelming degree of clarity to all participants?

Clarity brings instruction. Clarity brings confidence. Clarity brings energy.

If you want perfect execution, begin with perfect clarity.

Get strong clarity. Get strong execution. Get strong sales!

Execution is the theme of my 2016 Sales Leadership Summit, coming to San Diego in August. For more information click here.
