Want to make a first impression in a really classy way? As soon as you introduce yourself to the customer, try this:

“Thank you for coming in. We know you have a lot of choices but you selected us and I appreciate that. I promise to do all I can to help you in this process.”

This is a great way to both show your appreciation but also to establish a tone of helpfulness, two tokens of respect that go a long way towards establishing a trust relationship.
