p90x_promoI think you’ll agree with me that taking care of ourselves makes us stronger not just physically but mentally.  Some of you are aware that I went through the P90X program last year and got into the best shape of my  life.  While I still work out, I’ve lost some of that edge and I want it back.  I’m going back on the intense P90X program when my travel schedule lightens up – October 17th will be my start date.

If I get enough people to join me on the journey I am planning on setting up a website where we can stay in touch, encourage one another, track our progress, etc.

For those who have somehow missed the infomercials, P90X is an intense 90-day exercise and nutrition program unlike no other.  The exercise commitment is one hour per day.  The nutrition regiment is common sense (my nutrionist wife approves!) but requires that you eat a LOT of healthy foods throughout the day.  You don’t need a gym membership; everything can be done in your living room.  You need a TV and DVD player.  Free weights, a pull-up bar, a yoga mat and a heart rate monitor are helpful but not essential.  The program costs about $100 for the kit (which I recently saw at Costco).

Finally, this program is tough – really tough.  Don’t do this is if you’re not completely committed, if you find aggressive exercise challenging, or if you don’t have the time.  But if you’re up for the challenge, I look forward to working together!
