Controlling Your Success #4 – Controlling Your Internal Dialogue
Thinking Positive
A hundred years ago, author Eleanor Porter introduced us to Pollyanna, an abundantly optimistic and incessantly positive 12-year old girl. Over the years since then, Pollyanna’s gift of infectious optimism has been twisted into a negative connotation. Now we often hear people say with scorn, “Don’t be such a Pollyanna.”
But Pollyanna was never blindly optimistic nor without struggle. She was simply a master of seeing the best in every thing and every person. Negativity slows us down. It stops us from seeing our blessings, our potential, and our success. If we’re talking about controlling our own success, then we could all take a lesson from a fictional 12-year old every now and again.
