Sales Gravy Interview and Book Review
Interview: Sales Gravy
Rose Dukes, Marketing Manager for Sales Gravy, would like to introduce Jeff Shore in this Featured Interview.
He doesn’t just teach you how to sell, he shows you how to change your mindset and change your world.
His latest book, Be Bold and Win the Sale: Get Out of Your Comfort Zone and Boost Your Performance, has hit the market and can be purchased through Amazon.
Rose Dukes: Jeff, thank you for taking the time to speak with us today. Please, tell us how you got started in sales. Was it something you sort of “fell into”?
Jeff Shore: I fell into sales. Someone told me I could make $50,000 selling homes. I didn’t believe them. I was waiting tables at the time. I took the job for the money. I had no idea I would fall in love with sales as a career.
RD: What advice do you have for people who may be thinking about a career in sales?
JS: Your success in sales will not be based on experience or intelligence or personality type. It will be based upon your positive energy and your willingness to do uncomfortable things. Get that right and you’ll soar in sales.
RD: Who and/or what inspires you?
JS: Who inspires me? Jesus Christ – talk about a bold life! Richard Branson – he lives without limits. Jerry Rice – he personified hard work and dedication as the hallmarks of success. Tom Hanks – humility in his line of work has got to be tough.
RD: Tell us something about you that most people don’t know?
JS: Threw out the first pitch at a Padres’ game. Recorded a jazz piano Christmas CD. I was the youngest General Manager in the history of Kentucky Fried Chicken – age 19. Didn’t take my first college class until my second child was born; graduated with a 4.0 from Saint Mary’s in Moraga, California.
RD: Jeff, it was a pleasure speaking with you today. Thank you so much for your time; it’s truly appreciated.
“Be Bold and Win the Sale” Book Review
by Jeb Blount and Rose Dukes
Be Bold and Win The Sale, written by Jeff Shore, should be at the top of your 2014 reading list. Shore’s natural ability to break down the psychology behind the need for comfort and the course of action necessary to overcome it, is flawlessly written. Shore’s writing is down to earth, which makes it easy for anyone to understand and relate to his concepts.
Shore captivates his audience by getting straight to the point. He begins by addressing the mental roadblocks that often hold salespeople back, and then strategically guides his readers through a plan to face their fears, embrace their potential for success, and achieve boldness through a series of mental exercises.
More than just a book, Be Bold and Win The Sale, is a tool that allows the reader to utilize Shore’s powerful concepts and put them into action in the real world. Shore acts as a personal counselor helping the reader work through their fear, develop a personalized plan, and reach the ultimate boldness in sales.
I highly recommend this book to salespeople who are committed to overcoming fear, increasing their confidence, improving awareness of their true potential, and ultimately winning more sales.
