Why Your Customer Feels the Need…the Need for Speed!

We live in a fast world addicted to speed.

Our cars, our internet, our food, our YouTube videos – we demand speed everywhere (Admit it: if a video takes longer than five seconds to load it’s not really worth it!).

Here’s a news flash for you: your customer lives in that same speed centric world.

They feel the need for speed as much as you do.

So why are salespeople so notoriously slow to respond? Why does it take so long to get a question answered? To get a phone call returned? To get a follow-up e-mail, or a response to a web inquiry?

It’s enough to drive your speed addicted customer bonkers.

Let me put it another way. Make speed a top priority if you want to stand out from the crowd.

You can go the way of the masses and “get to it when I get to it.” You can tell all the stories you want about how busy you are and how you have other things to do.

But the whole time you are busy being busy, your customer is waiting.

And even if they are not waiting, the notoriously slow reputation of the sales industry has them primed and ready for surprise and delight if you fulfill their need for speed.

Your speed sensitive response will exceed their expectations. (A silver lining to the gray cloud of the slow sales world!)

Answer me this: What is more important than taking care of your customers quickly?

It’s a short list of answers, isn’t it?

Does speed count?

Does speed set you apart?

Do you believe speed helps you close the sale?

Then act like it. Starting now.

Don’t even finish this blog post for crying out loud. Go take care of your customer. Quickly. Now. Do it!

Fall in love with speed and go change your customer’s world.
