5 Daily Sales Habits to Help You Grow

Do you have daily habits? Are they helping you to get to the next level, or are they simply keeping you in the same place, making you wonder where the time went at the end of each day?

Every morning, I go through a similar routine. Not because I don’t know how to shake things up, but because it is the routines–the healthy routines–that help us start the day right and then continue to grow.

So, as I’m having my morning cup of coffee right now, I want to share with you 5 daily sales habits that will help you grow more than ever.

How do you start your day?

What do you do first thing in the morning to make sure you’re gonna get the most out of your day? How do you prepare yourself for success as soon as you wake up?

Every day is a new opportunity to make the most of 24 new hours. Every day is a whiteboard with endless opportunities.

However, when there are so many different opportunities to choose from, you need a bit of organization to make sure that you are handling the day right.

That being said, here are my top 5 daily sales habits to help you grow.

1.  Be Thankful

Sure, you may think that “being thankful” is a bit of a cheesy thing to do first thing in the morning, but it is extremely important. It’s not just writing in a gratitude journal, putting your hands on your chest and saying, “Namaste”, and being #blessed.

We are all going through mayhem in our daily lives, which means that we tend to forget all the things that we already have and that we have already accomplished.

The problem is that if you never remind yourself of the things you are grateful for, you will continue to become stressed thinking about the things that you haven’t yet achieved.

This is a dangerous thought process and can easily lead to depression and an obsession with comparing yourself to others.

So, the first thing you should do in the morning is be grateful. Practice gratitude for everything you have experienced in life, all the happy moments, and all the wonderful things that you have and have achieved.

This puts you in a positive mood from the very beginning of the day and helps you stay happy throughout the day.

Here’s an exercise for you to do: Stop what you’re doing right now and write down 5 things you are grateful for. Then notice how it makes you feel right after. I guarantee your mood will be instantly boosted.

2.  Visualize Completion

What are the things you want to complete by the end of the day?

Visualize something you want to complete today. Pay specific attention to the emotions that go with a completed project and the element of success that will be present throughout.

Our minds don’t like things that are incomplete–that are half-done. This means that if you don’t visualize completion, you’ll be stressed by all the incomplete tasks you have for the day beginning in the early morning.

3.  Focus on Income Generating Activities

These activities include anything and everything that help you to generate income.

You want to get all of your income generating activities out of the way as soon as possible early on in the day. Not only are you the most focused at this time of the day, but so is your customer!

Do your prospecting work and your follow-up work as soon as possible.

This is the best opportunity to check it off the to-do list and get it done, which will help you to feel great for the rest of the day and set you up for success.

4.  Eliminate Distractions

Distractions can come from anywhere and are not easy to get rid of.

In particular, if you’re someone who works from home, you will notice that other people will have a much more lenient way of reaching you whenever they feel like it–something that they would not do if you were working in an office.

Aside from other people interrupting you, what is the first thing that most people do when they start work?

Check their email.

Don’t do this.

Emails automatically come with stress. You will have to face problems from early on in the morning, which will completely throw you off of everything else that you need to do throughout the day.

No email, no social media, nothing of the sort first thing in the morning.

ONLY focus on your income-generating activities and don’t check anything else until you’re done with those!

5.  Focus on One Sales Point for the Day

Early in the day, I like to make a decision about what my focus for sales will be for that day specifically.

You’ll be less likely to achieve your sales goals if you attempt to focus on all aspects of sales at all times.

Instead, choose one thing that will make all your presentations for the day sharper and more adapted for the product. This will also help your potential customer stay focused on what you’re saying.

If you’re trying to talk about everything at the same time, you will quickly lose people’s focus and they will no longer be interested in the product.

Continue to Form Your New Habits

Sure, it’s great if you wake up one day and make it a productive day. But a single day will not make your career.

These habits are something that you need to work on all the time in order to perfect your skills and make the most of them.

Do this over and over again every morning until it truly becomes a habit. And you’ll see everything start to pay off faster than you thought.
