Feelings Aren’t Facts

Feelings matter.

But feelings should never be in charge.

If we make every decision based on how we feel in the moment, we’ll start making choices that pull us away from what matters most. Feelings are real, but they’re not always reliable. They’re not facts.

Instead of asking, “Do I feel like doing this today?” ask yourself a better question:

“What are my standards?”

Standards give you direction when your emotions are all over the place. They remind you of the kind of person you want to be, even on the days when motivation is nowhere to be found.

Because your future won’t be built by your feelings. It will be built by the standards you choose to live by.

Today, let what matters most override “I don’t feel like it.”
