9 Attributes of Truly Great Salespeople: Do You Have Them?

There are a lot of salespeople out there, and sadly, there are a lot of bad salespeople out there.  But what about the great salespeople?

While there are less of them, they are out there and they know what it takes to succeed.

Here are nine attributes that I think make a truly great salesperson:

1. Great salespeople are driven to achieve. They need to win, but never at their customer’s expense.

2. Great salespeople are control freaks. It drives them nuts when they feel they cannot control their own success.

3. Great salespeople are tireless. When it comes to getting the sale across the finish line, they exhibit amazing perseverance.

4. Great salespeople are empathetic. They not only understand the plight of their customer – they feel it in their souls.

5. Great salespeople are resilient. They understand that frustration, obstacles, and temporary setbacks are all components of their eventual success.

6. Great salespeople are nice. They know that nice equates to likable, and likable equates to trustworthy. And trustworthy equates to influence.

7. Great salespeople are growth-minded. The status quo is never an option. Ever.

8. Great salespeople are satisfied, and never satisfied. They take pride in and reflect upon a job well-done, but never to the point of complacency.

9. Great salespeople improve lives. And really – isn’t that what it’s all about?
