If you’re a human being with an email address, then your inbox has collected a metric ton of messages this week from your local officials, school districts and retailers about what they’re doing about COVID-19.

(Because we really needed Bed Bath and Beyond to tell us about their sanitation practices)

I’m not writing to you to talk about me or my company. I want to talk about you.

We’re in a period of FUD right now: Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt.

So this week’s 5 Minute Sales Training is about how to be a help to customers in a time of fear.

And it’s quite a tightrope we have to walk between brave or brash.

We want to be sure that we’re being safe and smart above all, but we also have to be reasonable and understand that we’ve still got a job to do!

And while we’re doing that job, we’re going to meet customers who are walking the same tightrope.

Not to take advantage of the situation by any means, but to help them navigate the best way forward for themselves and their family.

Stay safe, wash your hands, treat each other well. (Seriously!)

I’ll keep doing what I’m doing if you keep doing what you’re doing!
